Mercer-Bucks Orthopaedics is excited to introduce the newest surgeon to our practice...Dr. Francis Cyran.

Dr. Francis Cyran was born in Passaic, New Jersey and grew up in Montville. He attended Delbarton High School in Morristown, and college at The Johns Hopkins University where he completed a double major in Chemistry and Biology. For four years after his undergraduate studies, he conducted research at the National Institutes of Health on the Human Genome Project and helped find multiple genetic mutations responsible for certain genetic heart diseases. He then went to medical school and residency in Newark, NJ at Rutgers (UMDNJ) – New Jersey Medical School and Orthopaedics program.

In 2003, Dr. Cyran was accepted to the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) Musculoskeletal Oncology fellowship program and then spent another year in a Total Joints Fellowship. In 2005, he was hired as a tenured professor of orthopaedic surgery at UCLA which has been consistently ranked in the top five hospitals in the USA for the last 15 years. He also concurrently served as a surgeon and Chief of the Limb Salvage Service at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Los Angeles. While at UCLA, he served as a surgeon for the Operation Mend Program, which cared for veterans on a national level who had problems that were often deemed untreatable.

After 15 years at UCLA, having trained over 100 Orthopaedic Surgery Residents to operate, and winning multiple teaching and surgical awards, he has returned to New Jersey to be near his family and begin bringing his knowledge and expertise to our area.
