Physician Spotlight

We would like to thank Dr. Colarusso as he enters his 15th year at Mercer-Bucks Orthopaedics.

Dr. Frank Colarusso continues to maintain double board-certification, having recently recertified with both the American Medical Association (AMA)-American Board of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (ABPM&R) and the American Osteopathic Association (AOA).

He received honors at Rider University and attended Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. He interned at St. Barnabas Health Care System and was the chief resident in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Boston University Medical Center. For the first five years he held academic associate positions at SUNY and Harvard Pilgram. He was one of three attending physicians in charge at the 15th largest rehabilitation hospital in the U.S.A., at that time.

Dr. Colarusso in his twentieth year of practice, provides comprehensive non-operative musculoskeletal, spine and sports medicine. He specializes in MSK neck and back pain, EMG services, acute and chronic pain syndromes with medication management, dry needling, Osteopathic Manual Manipulation treatments as well as ultrasound-guided injections, nerve blocks and biologics.

He follows osteopathic principles and philosophies which embraces holistic patient care through the idea of the unity of structure and function of the body. Osteopathic holistic care is aimed at correcting the bodies altered mechanics, through the use of time-tested treatments such as osteopathic manual manipulation to maximize the patient’s functional ability and improve their quality of life.

Physical medicine and rehabilitation specialists create a comprehensive treatment plan based on a holistic understanding of the patient, utilizing diagnostic and therapeutic treatments that range from medication, injections, therapy as well as cutting edge ultrasound guided procedures.
Treatment will always be comprehensive including an evaluation of your daily supplements, diet and exercise program as well as treatment options for your current issues and advice on preventive measures.

Dr. Colarusso takes pride in allowing the patient the time needed to fully understand their specific diagnosis and ask questions about the treatment plan and the options given to improve their health, wellness and overall well-being.

Dr. Colarusso and his family are New Jersey natives, born and raised. He and his wife (who is a nurse at Princeton Medical Center) are enjoying their recent move into Princeton with their children and two King Charles Cavaliers. Dr. Colarusso stays active with his children and their sports and enjoys playing guitar, walking their dogs, working out, playing tennis and golfing.
