Rita DeSimone Schnell, OTR, CHT graduated from SUNY Buffalo with a degree in Occupational Therapy. She has worked in a variety of settings throughout her career, including the ICU, pulmonary and neurorehabilitation, post-operative burn, and orthopedic inpatient units. Rita had initiated treatment of post-concussive syndrome before it became well-established, and was published in the field of vision therapy.
In the most recent 20 years, she has specialized in outpatient orthopedics, attaining her certification in hand therapy (CHT) in 2009. Rita strives to keep up to date with the most current surgical and therapeutic techniques to provide exceptional care after fractures, nerve entrapments and subsequent releases, arthritis, ligament or tendon injuries, and customized splints of the hand and upper extremity. She also enjoys assisting patients in strengthening techniques, exploration of adaptive equipment, and implementing proper ergonomics to alleviate pain and allow people to return to their active lifestyle. Rita resides in Bucks County with her husband and has two grown children. She enjoys swimming, cycling, travelling, and spending time with her family.
